Taking Action in Libya

Today the White House authorized military action in Libya. Along with allies France and the UK we are making strikes to stop the Libyan government's attacks on rebels.

Why:
Pres. Obama said that he didn't want to do this - yesterday he (along with the UN) asked Muammar Qaddafi (leader of Libya whose people are rebelling against him) to agree to a cease-fire and stop the violence against civilians. Qaddafi refused, and the UN Security Council voted for a resolution authorizing action against Libya until the government agrees to a cease-fire.
